snow vaccing or clearing and gritting peoples drives?
« on: January 07, 2010, 03:33:01 pm »
have you seen anyone snow vaccing?

i have heard of a guy who uses a wet and dry vac run from a generator from his van and he has fitted a heated coil inside of his vac drum so its heated. the vac sucks up the snow off the drive and melts when inside the drum and he has a hose running from his soil pipe down a grid to expell the water when the vac if full of water.

it sounds a good idea but is it just a gimmick?

could we market it and make money in these conditions?

if you cann get hold of any mate your onto a winner as its going to be frozen solid everywhere for the next week at least. non of us guys are gonna get much work unless we get some salt and clean the drive of snow.

saw a van go past before with magnnetic signs over his van saying snow clearing from £20. he had a massive long wheel base van with a load of grit in back. people were stopping him as he went past to book him.
