A right bunch of t.ssers.

I registered for a free listing with them on there website, a day or two later i got a call from one of Their sales reps. He would not get it into his head that i did not want to pay to have a logo on their site, he kept going on and on and i kept telling him that i only wanted a free listing. eventually he got sh.tty and said yeah whatever goron and put the phone down. didn't get my free listing that they advertise either. I say boycot this company.

Cheers Goron

Steve,

I can't find my site and if I'm not on it ,  then they must have rejected me  , as I've tried all of them  :)

One of the hassles of getting free listings is the almost inevitable sales call.

Cheers,

Doug

The fella reckons its not working for you all because you haven't paid £200+ for an enhanced listing ::)

I paid the £200 ! :-[

Still rubbish.  City visitor used to come out the top entry on google for most searches in your town.

This was when I thought I'll have some that  :D

Google was changed a few weeks ago - they don't appear at all now on a search of " carpet cleaning my town"   :'(

Another £200 wasted!!

Don't do it.

All - stay clear of these people.
Search engines use keywords when creating a list from a search. City link base their success on using the word "IN". Such as:

Carpet Cleaner IN London - this will give a city-visitor listing near top.

BUT type in.........

Carpet Cleaner London - and hey presto, city-visitor doesn't even get a hit.

I just had a call from one of their sales-people and pointed this out. Got the response "What do you know, you are only a carpet cleaner!"

Guess they have been found out by a lowly carpet cleaner then eh? Who - in a past life has been in Telecomms and Internet design for approx 17 years! Guess I know nothing........ not all of it, but I always go by the thought, if I don't know it, I damn well know where to find the answer!

Paul

P.S. Stay away from them and DON'T pay for a listing - just my advice
