It's Raining
« on: December 21, 2009, 02:32:13 pm »
Hi Guys

I have had an absolute nightmare trying to pull away from jobs today, had to fire up the truckmount to loosen the ice, but it's now started raining and it's not often I'm pleased to say that!

Cheers

Doug

Oh I wish it would rain ::)
Started snowing at 1 pm and still it's throwing down huge flakes of the stuff. Just been out and measured the height of it on the car.....that'll be 4 inches in 4 hours then.

Went to London lunchtime and chucked down with rain there and back - got back to Epsom and got caught in a blizzard.

It caught everyone out and the back of the van was sliding all over the place, really treacherous and took me an hour to do a 15 minute journey.

I've had enough of snow now and apart from doing the food shopping it wouldn't bother me if I don't leave the house at all now before xmas  :-\

Just started again here about an hour ago, already best part of an inch of fresh stuff.  Didn't really want to be clearing the drive at 10pm tonight but I'm on a slope so I won't get the van back on it tomorrow unless I clear it off :-\

Looking on the bright side, I only have a quote booked tomorrow which I might just call off and do over the phone so I'm pretty much done for Xmas.  Break open the bevvies ;D

Praise the skies because it's finally stopped here. Dog pleased too because he's just had his first walk in days as there's enough snow to give him some grip, whereas the last few days have just been block ice on the roads and paths.
Guess I've lost tomorrows jobs though unless the side streets receive some magical thermo defrosting powers from the moon tonight.

Well at least we will be OK on Friday, I've heard on the grapevine the Bookies have fixed it with the big man again. ;)
