Day off
« on: December 17, 2009, 01:44:28 pm »
First day off today for 3 weeks.
Deliberately left it free as I'm working all w/e
This is the busiest I have ever been since start up in
beginning of 2009.
I am actually getting referrals now.
One council first floor flat job which I hated doing got
me a commercial office job worth £420 and a domestic
from the office
That domestic from the office has so far netted me 5
other domestics from friends, family and the next door
neighbour.
Feel as if I'm actually getting there at last.
Think a lot of it is down to the new machine I purchased
in June, compared to the previous 15 year old machine I
used to use the results are worlds apart.
Keep this up and it's a Prowler next.
Alas all good things come to rest, off to White Rose to try
find pressy for wife now, it'll be packed.

Thats good news John, Dont let yourself get caught in a false sense of security, if you was sat quiet at this time of year then you would be doing something wrong. Before you splash out on new tackle wait and see how the early months of 2010 go like, the hardest months are Feb - April, well they are for me anyway and we dont live that far from each other.
Glad your getting the referalls, you must be doing a good job ;)

I'm having tomorrow off to clean our own carpets and oven :'(

I think I had 8 jobs for the whole of December last year, so thing's have definately improved this year as I'm really getting the work coming in and January is looking promising too. Most work is referals which really makes it all worth while, there's nothing better than a custy saying "Wow, I can't believe how clean.....I'll be telling my friends about you!"

I must say Mark, I've fallen for that false sense of security and splashed out on new stuff a couple of times this year, then everything's all gone dead.... I won't be making that mistake again....

The Ninja is a brilliant piece of kit especially with the steamer,
cuts through everything.

Darren

Pretty quiet this afternoon but was picking up as I left at 4.

I'm in, get what I want and out again.
Although I must admit I browsed the female of the species for a while.

If the snow they are threatening comes tonight then I will be having plenty of time off - we were snowed in for 3 days in Feb.

Hi John,

I've been going (on and off) for four year's now. First Dec, O.K. for a newbie. Second Dec, fantastic. Third Dec; felt like putting myself in the oven never mind the bl..y Turkey. This Dec; a lot better than last year but not back to year 2 level.

It WILL creep-up and bite yer bum just when you think it's all ok.

4 months this year down on the year 2008 - Jan Feb Sept and Dec, all others turnover was up. Not looked at full year figures yet but suspect they will be up - which is good in the "recession"..
Work in December is never anything to shout about for me - gladly no 7 day weeks (dont want them).
Nov was best month ever.
Got the Prowler in April, kept the Scorpion - I am very happy.

Looking at my figures, May and July have been our best months for the last 2 years running, better than Nov and Dec, going back 10 years Nov + Dec were always the best by a million miles, guess we will never know why ???
