How do you flush a 4040 ?
« on: December 03, 2009, 05:50:14 pm »
As the subject says really

I have a tap on the waste and when thats fully open it still produces pure (just not as much) is this normal ?
Should I have a tap on the pure supply also and shut that off completely whilst the waste tap is fully open to flush ?

thanks
Simon

you are doing it right, you just need a bigger diameter pipe on the waste. when you open it fully, you should not get any pure. I have 3/4 pipe on mine and it flushes really well

I thought it would flush better if I stopped the pure flowing, but after a couple of weeks I had to buy a new membrane.

Not sure if it was that, or the membrane was due for replacement anyway, but I don't do it anymore :-[

Do you mind me asking what amount of water you where producing and what tds to start. And how long the membrane lasted?

Trying to work out costs for running.

Thanks

open waste tap to max , let the water run for 5/10 mins no more time needed this will flush the 4040.
do this every time before you refill your tank.this will prolong the life of the 4040.
people say flush for much longer this is a myth, ask the people you bought it off as well.
