« on: November 20, 2009, 08:12:38 pm »

i no its off topic but this evening my oil burner isnt working, for the past few nights it was kicking in staying on for a bit then dying out but tonight its not staying on at all...

i have bleed it over and over, restarted it by pressing the red button, ajusted the air flow made bigger and smaller, cleaned out inside were the flame does be there is 3 plates covered in soot all was cleaned but all to no avail...

Its a firebird indoor burner only a year old..

Any help at all on this chilly night appreciated  ;)

im no plumber but there is a small sensor called a magic eye (i think) try cleaning it ,if this doesnt help try opening up the pump where you bleed it there is a small piece of metal in there a key way helps the cogs turn they can wear out fast can easily be temporarily fixed with a paper clip or metal strand from a dog comb . mine is a riello burner this has fixed mine in the past yours could be completely different also dont keep pressing the red button till the problem is diagnosed ,like i say im no plumber but this just might help you
