How cheap is protector?
« on: May 11, 2009, 05:01:08 pm »
I'm always doing my sums on the buying of protector, obviously they come n different strength although not stated and also differnt prices, my question is 'how cheap can you sell protector at' or should I say at what price can you profitably sell protector at its cheapest price?

I currently do a a room 12 x 12 for £24 for centres and walkways know as a top up or whole room at £36, realistically worked out on 2/3rds and full room.

Hi Shaun,

Obviously it all depends on which protector you use.  Generally speaking the past few years i have applied Chemspec Protector which requires diluting.  Prior to that i used Prochem Protector that is RTU.  I have found that the Chemspec chemical is as good as Prochems yet it works out alot cheaper to use.  Therefore, this saving can be passed onto the customer.  I think that the price that you are currently charging your customers is giving the customer value for money and would not go any cheaper than that.

Richie.

£45 for a 3 piece and £2.50 - £3.00sq m for carpets depending on what I think can get away with.

Going on a course this weekend. Apparently one of the topics is a new way to apply protector which makes it far cheaper, yet gives excellent results.

There are still places available I believe.

Newbie here not yet trading - when is the best time to apply a protector,is it ok to apply straight after extraction do you have to wait a certain length of time?

Also would you sell the protector at the original survey or sell to the client after cleaning?
