Before I make the plunge for a cheapish van with maybe an Omnipole trolley system, to begin with, can anyone say what the score is regarding water leakage in a car, as oppose to a van, if it's not a daft question.

The good advice seems to be that a van needs a speedliner or similar flooring. Is this only for van mount or does it apply to the wee trolleys too. In which case does any car system require the car being prep'd to combat leakage

Get a trailer and you won`t have those problems

MY ADVICE :buy an old car cus pure water is more aggressive than tap water,then buy another one the same make and strip your old one for parts,so if you did breakdown at least you could bolt on the spare part,going to do this with my lwb tranny, but it seems to not want to go into retirement

I use an aquatec trolley system in my Honda Estate.

Be really careful with joints, connections etc  and you'll have very few leakage problems.

But I bet you a weeks wages that within a week or a month or even a year something will go wrong big time and you'll be paddling in the footwells and demisting the screen for weeks on end!

I managed to syphon (only)25 litres of pure water into my car - I've got the cleanest spare wheel in Britain!

And your car will still stink like all window cleaners cars do!

Thanks chaps - gonna go for the older van - I've got a near mint 63k miles p reg mondeo estate fsh and it would be a shame to let it deteriorate and I am bound to mess up somewhere with the water - did think about the trailer but that would make the whole shabang a bit too long and maybe I would still have to put brush and poles in the car
