Quick WCP question
« on: September 26, 2009, 12:33:48 pm »
Just did yesterdays "end of day" today instead of last night, and it's assumed the cleans were done today, therefore scheduled next cleans for 4 weeks today rather than 4 weeks yesterday.

I have had to go into each job and re-schedule, which is a pain.

Is there an easy fix to this, other than running end of day the same day the jobsheet was for?

Cheers

I'm not sure but would like to know too..

Yesterday, I went through and did end of day, and clicked 'missed' on a load that I didn't do this week due to man flu, and it just rescheduled them 4 weeks later, instead of putting them in a late category.

- It's fine now I know, I won't do it again, but it was really annoying having to change each job's due date again!

Just had a quick check...

When you click end of day, at the bottom, there's a drop down menu for set next clean date to...

Or set the date done next to each job, and it will reschedule from there.

Yes...  ;D

So easy to lose track of all those customers, and those who haven't paid!  ;D :D

Unless your pad and pen can do all that,  keep track of expenses, accounts, invoices and receipts, all in one note book that never runs out of pages.  ???   :P

(I assume that's the pen and paper you use to keep track of your ever expanding business?)  8)

dont want to do that tho, i just want it to take them as the end of the day on the job sheet and schedule it from that day, not the day i do my updates...

say i only did all my paperwork at the end of the week, which is feasible, i would have all of my cleans then fall for 4 weeks from that day. i dont want to have to manually enter dates, thats surely why you buy the system?!

i am sure its something i have not done, as i cant believe i have to update it EVERY night after the days jobsheet?!

Quite right prowindow, though I just use about 20 x A4 sheets with the name and road and amount and frequency to the left. If I do the windows on say 23rd April and I get paid on the spot I write 23/4Y. Next month I will go no earlier than 21/5 (but due to weather and weekends occasionally as late as 25/5) and if they don't pay I write eg 21/5N. If a cheque comes in I change the N to a Y.

Simples!

It's a game of three halves!

Yeah, you're right acctually,

That is annoying to 4week it from when you do your paperwork.

I wonder though, I've only just bought the program, and I've bought a cheap PDA, so am going to tick off the jobs on that as I go..  I'm guessing that the PDA will automatically schedule the next cleans?

If you do find out from Ian Hannaford, please post your findings on here! I'll do the same..

On the end of day screen, the second column has the Date that the job was cleaned - this is what the software uses to calculate the next due date. It automatlcally enters todays date, if you did it yesterday then you would have to change it to done yesterday. I will add a new button on the end of day screen which will allow you to change the done date for all jobs rather than individually.

If all your work in the round is due on the same day (i.e in your case 4 weeks from the day beofre you did the end of day (yesterday)) the easiet way of chaning the due dates is under Tools -> Maintenance Options and then click Change Due Dates for Jobs. Select the round and then select the correct date that you want to do the jobs.

Hope that answers your questions?

Thanks

Ian

still leaves me doing the work, which isn't ideal! it means i have to remember to change it, which again, isn't ideal?!

to me, if i want to leave all my paperwork til the end of the week, month, whatever...the system should be ok to cope with that?

so, if i need to update 5 days worth of jobsheets at once, i can, and it automatically forwards 4 weeks from the date on the jobsheet, or whatever the pre-programmed clean frequency is?

however, upon writing this, i can see that may throw up some issues, such as you may not have completed the work on that day...but then, thats something for you ian, as my brain can't cope!!

for me, the system needs to be idiot proof, which it almost is...i am on the free download at the minute, and can see its benefits immediately, great product ian!

Thank you. The other option that you have is to set the system to schedule dates from the due date rather than the date done. This way it will always schedule 4 weeks from when they were due. Again there are two ways to do this. Firstly on the end of day screen you can change the box at the bottom 'Set next clean dates from:' and chage this to Last Due Date. Secondly you can change this setting through the system under Tools -> Preferneces and then select Default Settings. In this screen there is a setting called Calculate Due Date From. The default is to calculate from the date you cleaned the job (i.e the date you enter when maintaining the work) and the other option is from the due date. This is the date that the job was/is due.

Thanks

Ian
