hi can anyone tell me wat they use 2 clean windows with, im starting on the 9th may, so need 2 practice, do they use fairy liquid, if so how much . thanks

i am starting next week, so best of luck when you start up. i am going to use liquid off the shelf in B & Q by ettore.
That way iwill not need a coshh assesment for my detergent. I did think of washing liquid myself, the amount of suds put me off.

If you use fairy just one squirt in a bucket. If u get a really greasy window put a bit on the applicator 2

Fairy Liquid is what I used for eight years until autumn last year - now I use GG4 (specialist low-sud glass cleaning fluid) when I'm using a squeegee and applicator (blading) - Pure water when using my wfp (water fed pole).

GG4 is great, takes some getting used to, BUT if you are just starting, then you wont know, so i would start with GG4 (if in a hard water area) or GG3 (if in softwater area)

yes fairy is the one , the other ones don't keep the suds as long , no more than a squirt tho or you will be in a right mess . put it in the bucket after you have filled with water as well , or you will have the sudd monster coming out of the top 
Don't touch the fairy apple blossom one , it's got somthing in it that strips your hands - as my mate found out this week , he's never had a problem with the normal green one before .

not a problem with me as I have to wear glove's 365 days a year  due to having dry cracked hands any way )

GG3 , never got on with this , like a bit more of a sudd .

I did use fairy liquid on it's own till I experimented with dishwasher rinse aid.
Now I use half the ammount of fairy and a couple of squirts of rinse aid,
They do special offers of magnum and allio rinse aid in Aldi's from time to time. About 70p per litre I think. Any way it's absolutlely brilliant, Your water seems to go on thinner and your blade has more slide, best of all no suds.

If you're just starting, what you put into your bucket will be the least of your problems.  It's what's in you that counts.  Try not to be one of the 'fly by nights' who pack it up after three months.

Get determined, but don't give up.  Phone around and ask a local window cleaner to take you out for a day or two - free of charge.

I like the suds, dont know why I just do. Cant seem to get use to GG4.

love fairy loads of suds ,i squirt a line of fairy on my applicator and i make it really soapy.[sonds like a porn film] i always use lots of water withit aswell.

"ettore sqeegee off" is brill, but we start people of on washing up liquid till they learn how to use the squeegee as it has more slip. just keep practising on your own windows till you can't see any probs when looking from the inside.

We do sometimes use Ettore Squieeigie Off (or however that word is spelt) but lately we've been using Fairy with Dai's idea to add rinse aid.

Both are really good and the rinse aid idea - try it. It puts a real shine on the windows but only add a little otherwise your hands dry out.

 I find Morning Fresh has better slip than fairy and is also cheaper.

I put gg4 with fairy and found there was no difference. A lot of people say that you should only put a little bit of fairy in the water but I put a bit more and make it really soapy. I like using it that way and find the glass will gleam. If its really dirty glass then a dash of vinager is really good.
I will try rinse aid sometime and see how I go with that.

I've tried Fairy, GG4, Unger Liquid (or is it 'Fluid') and Dai's Rinse Aid, and combinations of each.

But I didn't find any of the above a 'magic' solution, so I'm back on good old green Fairy.  If it's good enough for our 'Turbo' Terry Burrows (the World's Fastest Window Cleaner), it's good enough for me.

I have just tried the ettore liquid and have found it really good. Expensive but good. Only problem is the water gets really dirty very quickly. To do a days work I only need one bucket when using fairy, the other day I used 3. So I'm not sure if I will stick with it.
A little dash of vinigar is good with fairy but it smells of smelly socks especialy when it is hot. So I will try the rinse aid.
