As you may know, Palm doesn't support USB synchronization for 64-bit Windows editions, whether that's XP 64 or Vista 64. If that will come in future or not is a big unknown.

So if you are using Pocket George and you want to upgrade to a 64 bit edition of windows Vista or the upcoming windows 7, you are pretty much stuck to using a second pc with XP on there for hotsyncing. Not ideal.

There is one other way though, and that's through synchronizing your PDA via Bluetooth (a form of wireless communication.)

It's a lot simpler then it sounds. For that you simply need a Palm OS powered PDA which has got Bluetooth functionality in it (I stepped up from my Zire 31 to a Zire 72) and an USB Bluetooth adaptor/dongle for your PC, which is dirt cheap on eBay nowadays, and doesn't require a driver install on Vista 64. The link is below.

These two guides will help you along, the first link is for newer devices, and the second link you can use for older devices. The first link will direct you to install a newer version of Palmdesktop. Check if your device is supported in that one. If not, simply go to the website, and download the appropriate version of Palmdesktop for your PDA.

Even though your installation/application might vary, these two guides will help you get there.

As for the Bluetooth adaptor, I bought this one, on Vista no driver is required :
