first clean which brush?
« on: June 15, 2009, 10:23:09 pm »
done a couple of sheltered housing schemes and was not happy with the end results, milky white water marks coming from seal on the top quarter of window, bottom three quarters wer perfect.

I presume its the detergent so i would like to know what brush people think are best forthese first cleans?

i find gardners supa light flocked the best as it seems to scrub better than the mono filament version.
better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove any doubt

I would say oxidised frames that a mad w/c never touched , so it has to be a case of s.s.s. r.r.r. as earlier , bummer , but they will come good

Mineral stains on the glass perhaps? in fact if the others are OK then I'll almost bet on it ;) Unless your not rinsing the frames enough of course.

I've only ever had one problem like that and I found there were holes in the upvc frames just above the glass that were dripping down some type of vent I guess.

Tucker or Vikan for 1st cleans as they have better scrubbing power for weight applied to the brush.

it will be from the seals. scrub and scrub them until it starts to run clear and then you will get no problems. after a few months you may have to do same again as sometimes it comes back.

i would have thought hot water would increse the chances of the seals expanding and letting water in, especialy if they are old seals
