Favour for Favour!
« on: April 24, 2005, 11:08:32 pm »
Hi all,

I did a quote on a house clean this morning, after a while I noticed diplomas on his office wall and asked what he did for a living and he said he was a therapist speacailsing in hypnotheraphy for giving up smoking.

As a long term smoker and wanting to give up we came up with a deal of me cleaning his carpets and him giving me and my fiancee sessions in kicking the habbit.

I think this is a good deal as I would have charged him £200 for the carpets and he would have charged £350 for the counselling!

Has anyone else had similar work exchanges worth mentioning?

P.S. I'm still waiting for the local brothel to call  ;)
Only joking Kelly if you read this!

All the best to you all,
Jason.

Hi Ian,

At least you knew what you got back was worth it! I'm just hoping this man is as good as his word and can deliver the goods. He lives in a nice house and has a nice car etc. Me and my partner would both love to give up smoking and I would pay anyone £X to guarantee success.

I'm cleaning his carpets on Wednesday and he's seeing us on Saturday so as long as I make a good job of his house hopefully we wont be on our hands and knees baa'ing like sheep every time the doorbell rings!

Fingers crossed,

All the best,
Jason

I cleaned the club shop at Brockett Hall Golf Club (very posh club) in exchange for a 4 ball round of Golf.

My mates were over the moon as a round of Golf there is about £80.00 a head.

Hi Jason

I gave up smoking 20 years ago, and it was probably the best thing that i have ever done (apart from leaving my previous wife!!)
At the end of the day mate, you are the decision maker.
You are the one who has to stop putting that cigerette in your mouth!
I have known quite a few people who have gone down your route and none have been successful ???
But if you feel confident in it happening, then go for it!

All the best of luck ;)

Hi Phil,

That sounds good to me, wouldnt mind a round of golf with the boys for a little graft!

Hi Ian,

I knew someone would state the obvious thanks for the reply. I'm glad you gave up and I'm sure if I could it would be the greatest achievement of my life!

We've tried patches, gum etc and willpower while it lasts but have started again after a while.

I'm hoping this will work for the sake of a few hours work. I'm not exactly stacked up with work at the moment so it will fill in a space in the diary if nothing else!

Thanks for the interest,
Jason.

I went to a hynotherapist to stop smoking and asked me a small question befor he got down to the hypno stuff, it went something like this.

Where does tobacco grow? he asked.
third world countrys i spose! said i.
They dont have public toilets in these places in the middle of a field do they? he asked.
No, i dont suppose they do! said me.
AND they get paid by the weight of the basket they collect! said the hypnotherapist.
(by this time im starting to think Oh Sh*t)
So, he says, when they need to goto the shi**er they probably use the nearest soft stuff to clean themselves up i.e. tobacco leaves, then put them into the basket for westerners to smoke!

aaaahhhh
Just the thought of that turned my stomach.
Good luck in giving up

I cleaned a local gym. When it came to paying (Total £175) I asked how much the membership was. I was told £25 per month. I said give me £100 and three months membership. The owner agreed, gave me the £100 and a full years membership.
