The NEC  show is pointless as you cant use the machines or tools.  THe CCDO is ideal as you can see and use it in the flesh before you buy.

IMO the NCCA needs to have a CCDO type event.  Low cost with a hands on opportunity.  They could also have their AGM which was cancelled cause not enough NCCA members where going to the show because not enough suppliers where going to the show.

Trade shows are a marketing tool and as such will attract companies who anticipate sales, either direct, or as a result of contacts made at the shows.

The  ideal  showcase for tools / machinery is a location where demonstrations can take place bearing in mind the modern paranoia about H & S issues.

It occurs to me that a good place to exhibit / demo our products might be at the thousands of " agricultural shows " around the country. They already have massive machinery and equipment on show the cost would be low the locations easy to find and hiring a marquee for a day would accommodate plenty of exhibitors.

Contacting prospects should be pretty easy nowadays with many organisations holding our details on file.

Now who among the membership is a capable organiser of such events ?

Just another " early morning thought "

have a nice day

Dave

I agree about the NCCA days.  Ken and others do an amazing amount of voluntary work for this industry and should receive more praise and respect for it.

My idea was more of an annual big event like the CCDO where most if not all suppliers will be there.
