Hi Telboy

Do you mean HSE regs with regards the cradle itself and how it's fitted at the top and all the stuff that goes with that or the HSE regs with regards being on a cradle etc and being the one who is doing the window cleaning?

I MEAN THE HSE REGS REGARDING SAFE PRACTICES FOR THE USE OF ROPE CRADLES BY THE OPERATOR
AND THE LANDLORDS OF THE BUILDINGS RESPONSIBILITIES

AND ALSO ARE THEY STILL SUPPOSED TO BE IN USE? ???

Hi Telboy

They should be tested and certified if they are being used and if you are carrying out the work you need to have a copy of the certificate. As to using them you can get training from the manufacturer do not attempt to use one without training. Its up to the building owner to have the cradle maintained and tested.
Hope this helps.

Hi Telboy

The above posting says it all. The only thing worth adding about the certificate  is that the company having the work done need to have a current and valid certificate.

I have a friend who does roped access and cradle work and he says it is surprising how many times the certificate is out of date especially if a new company has moved into the building.

I'm also looking into this as at some point (soon I hope) I hoping to get all the relevant certificates etc to do craddle work at there seems quite a lot of it up for grabs around here.

Cheers
