Hi everybody.
Its a question i have'nt seen & i've read & read most of the topics.
I'm doing a lot of WC (for the missus & family free of course) to gain experience but cleaning in direct sunlight i'm leaving odd smears & it looks awful! soon as the sun is off the windows they look good.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

It really is all about practice as I am finding out myself - I did a commercial premises with my mate and he had to go over some of my handywork because, at the time I was constantly resorting to dabbing the window with my scrim to clear any water on the glass - in effect I was making the whole thing worse - the real answer is to get your appicator to work thoroughly over all of the glass and then work on your squeegee technique until you really just need the tiniest margin of detailing to do round the edge.

Everybody has their own preferences re squeegee size - After reading some of the posts I decided to try a 10 inch over the normal 12 that I was using and it has made the whole thing better again.

Use slightly more water so you have a chance to squeegie it off before it dries then you will not have any problems.

I hope you are going to enjoy window cleaning.
I could not see myself doing anthing else.
Take your time and don't try any fancy squeeging you might have seen done by another window cleaner. That come's with practice.
Just pull the squeegie across the glass lift off wipe the blade and pull across again underneath working your way down the window.
That way you know you will be doing a good job and as you get more practice you will start to get faster.

Good advice.  Also, if you have a LARGE window, such as a big shop front, do it in sections, or you'll find your solution has dried on the window before you've had a chance to squeegie it all off.
