Yes, I am.

I've been knocking, not because I'm short of work; I've been doing this for nineteen years now, but to make sure my customer base gets bigger and not smaller; if that makes sense.

If we're all going to be losing customers hand over fist, as some on here would have you believe, I'm making sure I gain plenty first. I've also been picking up commercial work too; a childcare company with three centres, a pub and a management board for a block of rather posh apartments found themselves on my books last week.

This recession wont be the death of my business; the weather might be though  :'(

It was fun working on Dartmoor yesterday, trying to clean windows on a residential home whilst my missus and little 'un made a snowman  :-\

yes, just come back for a coffee

no joy,  mostly out and the ones that are in resent you bringing them to the front door to stand shivering on the doorstep

will try again later

Door knockings like it's always been; if you hit an area with no window cleaner you pick up plenty of work, if not you go home miserable and cold.

To be honest I didn't take any notice of the last recession; I was still young and had no interest in things like that.

I've just set myself an achievable target of fifteen new customers per week at my average price, or the equivilent in cash value. That way I'm not going to get disheartened when I don't pull in a silly amount of new work and fifteen a week soon mounts up. While everyone else is moaning about having no money we can still award ourselves a pay rise each month. It's nice being a Fat Cat boss  ;)

It's a real waste of time knocking during the day except for the weekends; everyone's at work, or digging their car out of the snow  :D
