I've not lost any yet. all in all i think we are in a pretty safe trade, especially if you mix your eggs, but we are not bullet proof. I think it's wise to consider all possibilitys of what the coming year could bring & consider the action which may be required to counter any slump in business. ;)

I reckon January will be a telling time for quite a few of us.

For the customer Christmas is over, back to work, still dark and cold, credit card bills start to drop onto doormats and nothing to look forward to...January is a right poxy month!

I reckon January is the most dangerous time for losing customers or being told "not today thanks".

When they're not "back to work" is when we need to worry!
It's a game of three halves!

Lost one yesterday, sent in their cheque for last clean, £8.00, and asked to be taken off list as he had just been made redundant.

Saying that we picked up three new bungalows on 23rd December one for £15, one £20 and one £24 and I think there could be more from the same area by the next time we clean them.

People are still on the lookout for window cleaners so cannot see the market dying, they may instead ask for them to be done every 2nd clean which I have had a few.

Also still getting a lot of traffic through the website, here are a few hits over the past couple of days. Some are related to window cleaning some are not but visited the site , so it's working well  ;)

It will hit everyone who loses there job or business,i know what you mean but it effects all people in all walks of life. The rich can downsize get rid of the car etc,the smaller families live from week to week if there lucky so as soon as the job goes so does the house and everything in it on credit and if there that strapped for cash straight away i would say all of it`s on credit.

Having said that though I've this customer who I call the Royle family because their house is a tip and they don't work, they just sit in house all day smoking/watching tv etc, they're only in their 40's too. Everytime I pull onto their drive I always expect one of them to come and say not today thanks. But they never do. £10 THANKS VERY MUCH. Wish they were all like them to be honest. ;D
