One more quick question before i pop off to bed


Whats the best way to get dried on bird muck etc off a window using wfp.I was thinking of attaching a  plastic scraper to one side of the brush etc...anyone tryed something similar?

i was thinking the very same thing, but a less permanent thing as i dont really fanch messing about with a blade stuch to it. I have some spring clips and pipe clips i might try and see how i get on that way i just clip it on and use it then straight back off.

Soak the birds mess first, move on to the next window to clean and return back to the soiled window. Bird pooh will come off easier after a pre-soak or invest in a hot wfp system and birds mess will be a doddle

I have an L5 fitted but was using warm rather than hot water just incase it cracked any of the windows.What sort of temp can you use without fear of it breaking?

I used my diesel heater 3/4 full today,if the ambient temp or outside temp is 10 or above your safe to use it as hot as you like it`s when your getting down to 0 and below that you need to be carefull.If the weather is bitter i use it hot enough to keep hoses soft and the water warm,i turn it up as the temp rises during the day.

Whats the cost of running a heater for the water? say if it was on constant at mid range temp on a 6 hr constant day?

If it's above 8 I'll use 60 degrees. If it's a cold morning, I'll wait 'til the sun has had a chance to heat the glass in the windows up a bit, especially if I'm working in the shade for quite a period before using full heat.

£3-4 if that i was changing a gas bottle nearly every 9-10 days at £17 a go,diesel is so much more simple as it`s connected up to the tank on the vehicle so filling up isn`t an issue,switch on and forget just turn it off at the end of the day.

Like i say i was nearly full heat this morning as i knew i would have no problems at all,a good guide is frost in the morning that tells you to just watch it a bit in the shade.I`ve had a few creakers with the L5 but it`s so hard to know how hot your going especially as it`s so up and down.

Oh yes it does

Maybe it does when you look up before you get the brush on it,i clean windows as normal with hot and it comes straight off without over scrubbing.
