I'd be very careful empting the water on streets. They'd class that as littering.. I do it the odd time but have look around first  ;D

sludge from block paving is just sand, weeds and moss which is all natural stuff so how can they do you for carrying that? its just crazy.

You need a waste license to remove garden waste if you are a commercial operation. If your a private resident doing it yourself then you dont.

Which is why i said be careful (regarding emptying of the vac), and try to do it on private residence where people cant see it.

doyou have another pole for the spike?  i might not get a camera i might just use the wing mirror someone else was using, he said it works a treat/

Yes, you will need another pole for a spike. I use a glassfibre wfp. The spike is going to be needed too you won't do many gutters without it. People will phone for a gutter clean usually when things are bad. Most of your work will be clearing moss, grass and plants. I had a brilliant one today - just leaves.

I think you can get a spike for a pressure washing lance that you already have?

All suck, trouble is a lot of the gutters look fine from ground level but are half to three quarters full of silt and moss. I did one today and after raking it with a spike i sucked the debris up. A lot of it clung to the insides of the poles and hose, you know this straight away as everything seems to double in weight. When this happens it's handy to suck a bucket of water through to clear the pipes.

No i find it easy! The hard bit is when people want the outsides washed along with fascias and soffits - that's what i find knackering! I could vacuum all day i don't find it much worse than wfp'ing windows to be honest. I have heard the aluminium powerpole can be a little heavy and when it clogs i should imagine it would weigh a ton. Superlight sections are just that - Superlight!

sounds great, i know what you mean about washing the outside of the gutter too as it means setting up a pressure washer too!  does it make a mess of the outside of the gutters?

Funny thing is, there are also guys who spend thousands on wfp systems from big suppliers and some that will pay £15000 for a franchise (near me) with no van and no work to chase £10 windowcleaning jobs.
It's really up to you drive surgeon what you want to do and how much you want to spend. I'm not sure you clean windows as well - you will need to if you intend pressure washing the outsides of gutters. I've never said the omnivac is no good - it obviously does the job. If your not sure about diy then buy the ready made goods.

I'm interested in the Omnivac too but mainly for residential, the reason being that I know a few people who have not been paid due commercials going in to liquidation.

Is it reasonable to ask for payement on completion of the job on commercial work?
