Nearly killed myself !
« on: December 02, 2008, 02:51:39 pm »
My last job on sat eve i had wound up both sets of cables,on my porty and secured them as usual with the velcro straps, was emptying my machine into a bucket, and the heat and run plug came un velcroed and fell into the bucket  >:( .
Gave it a shake off and thought i will deal with that on monday.

Forgot all about it come monday morning, plugged both plugs in,filled up machine and set it up,went to turn it on and the heat and run was  not working,so went to check, not turned on at plug.
Them to my horror i saw water seeping down the cable ! PHEW took plug off and sprayed with wd40 dryed it off and plugged in and turned on without a shock.
Someone was watching my back !

The RCCD's are about £8 from B&Q, I always use them! I'm S**t scared of electricty! Saves face too by avoiding blowing their consumer unit.... Not too much of a problem in itself I suppose, unless you're cleaning an old property with the old fuse boxes...

Mark,

As the others say, get some trips.

I managed to slice a cable with a Dry Fusion machine a while back.

They may also save you a vac motor at this time of year. It's so easy to get a load of condensation in your vacs if you take a cold machine into a warm humid house.
