I have an aquatec supplied R/O set up. It has an "In" / "Out" TDS meter.

Once it settles down after flowing for about a minute the in reading (after the filters) is about 008 and the out reading is 001.

This then goes into my 210litre water butt and then to my 25l containers.

Today I did a job with a mate and he had a hand held TDS meter - checked my water (now 24 hrs old) it read 000! He told me I could unplug my in-line meter and check my own at home which I did. It also read 000!

I set up the R/O and it reads 001 coming out of the feed to the water butt. My container - now 32 hours old reads 000.

How can a reading actually drop after being stored      I'm not complaining mind.

Not sure on that one but i have a 700ltr tank in the van and it still reads 000 after being stood for a week but it has been thru 2 x 25ltr resin cylinders..Also you can have a reading of 015 before changing resin/ro

You'll find temperature and accuracy makes a difference. The hand meter I have has an accuracy of around 8ppm. So it could read 4ppm yet really it is 0ppm.

Hows that sound?

Maybe it's because in one measurement it's flowing water and in the other its still? It's the same meter and the temperature is the same too.
