HI,

I have read many of the posts over the last few days which have been an enormous help.

I am preparing to start an office cleaning company but I want to be fully prepared before I kick off. I intend to take part in a variety of courses and workshops most of which have been recommended on this exremely valuable site.

Is there such a course as an all round course that will cover the approach and type of chemicals to use expertly within office cleaning.

I am not starting this venture for a quick buck, I'm taking it very seriously. I know it will be a lot of hard work but I want to start off knowing as much as I can, even if it means I have to delay the start date.

I will invest in training for carpet cleaning etc but would also like an all round course to commence with.

Can anyone recommend anything.

I see from your profile that you are based in the next town to myself!! Welcome to the forum.
I was going to suggest  bics.org.uk too, so try that and also give Prochem a look at too. Not only do they do the carpet cleaning courses, but also upholstery cleaning, cleaning of all the various hard flooring and even one course deals with selling your business!!
Probably worth trying them on www.prochem.co.uk

Should have added don’t run before you can walk, if your core business is to be contract cleaning i.e. office desks, toilets etc get the cleaning fundamental behind your belt first, if you don’t know what red, green, blue and yellow stand for you defiantly need a bics course, before anything else.

Thanks Len, I'm going to check out bics right now, good advice which I've taken on board. This site has shown me there's a lot more to cleaning than a pan 'n' brush !

Tim, I've just received the catalogue from prochem and I shall certainly choose one of their courses .......as soon as I know what red, green, blue & yellow stand for!

JUst wondering have you worked in Office Cleaning before.

It was once suggested to me that if I want to learn about Contract Cleaning (im a carpet cleaner) but I notice one or two contractors are now venturing into carpet cleaning, )

Anyway the way to get trained was to go and work for several contractors and hope they do not realize you are a Carpet Cleaner in my case.

Not sure if a Maids company would take me on though  and that would interfare with Carpet Cleaning Time.

I recently aquired Office Cleaning Guide off Ebay only about £!3 but load of rubbish.

CD of poorly photographed contracts, office cleaners and clip art that you can get for free.

Sellars Ebay report was good in fact excellent so there must be a hidden gem I have not found.
