Back up work
« on: October 26, 2008, 11:33:14 am »
What a big mistake I have done this morning.....

I was sorting out my work for next week and instead of copying and paste I cut and paste all next weeks work and amended it, Then realized what I had just done...

So I went to undo and so on and I f*&ked it up......

Oh I forgot, I had a backup....

What a saving grace....

ALWAYS BACK UP YOUR WORK !!!

Back it up to Harddrive everytime I close George, and then use Internet backup.

For my own work I still use a simple paper system.  Short of a fire it can't get accidentally deleted ;D

When I remember, I always make a 'hard copy' of all my work and customer's details; I just print it all off and shove it in a file.

I really should do this weekly, but I generally, to be honest, do it about three-times-per-year.

Over the years, I've had two hard drives break on me - before I used a computer for my record keeping.  So it's pretty clear what would happen now if I had a problem.  Therefore, I back up to an external hard drive at least every other day and to the internet at least once per week.
