getting paid by commercial work?
« on: October 12, 2008, 09:07:25 am »
when doing commercial work, if your customer insists on paying by an electronic money transfer as opposed to a cheque how does that work?

is it simply a case of putting your bank, e.g Lloyds TSB, and your sort number and account number on the invoice so they can just transfer the money in?

I have a few customers who pay this way, just give the accounts dept the bank details and thats it, I wouldn't put these details on your invoice though, if one was to get misplaced, your bank details would be available to the finder.

mine are on my invoices, to be honest, all the details are on cheques aswell, we dont worry about them

Our bank details are on our invoices and have been for a long time. In fact we have found many commercial customers like to pay this way.

There is no risk of the bank details causing a problem unless your afraid of someone making an unauthorized deposit  ;D
