Hi all,  I have been asked to pressure wash the external walkways and balconies in a residential complex that i do some work in and could do with some advice on the subject.
The balconies have some type of "painted" on yellow protective coating that has worn away and peeled off in places and has ground in dirt mainly along the edges.
The walkways are concrete with a dimpled pattern and have a lot of moss on them.

Can anyone suggest a decent trolley style pressure washer that doesnt cost too much, and any advice/precautions on carrying out the work would be greatly appreciated. Lastly can someone give me a guide to costing the job i.e £m2 etc

hi all     can anyone recommend a perssure washing unit to buy     been looking on ebay  and theres some cheap ones  but i want a half decent one
 any advice would be very welcome

i would not buy one of the cheap ones of ebay they are crap as a starter machine go for one with an honda engine and capable of at least 15 litres a minute , a good place for good kit is merrill fox in america it is good equipment and well priced but can take a couple of week to be delivered.

thanks BDCS and trevor,  the engine size and psi is what im mainly unsure of.
 what would you say the minimum engine size i need for this job, also has anyone got any experience whith this painted on coating, as i say its worn in places so im concerned about making it worse

 you want a machine that works at 15 litres aminute and a pressure of 3000psi with the painted on coating i would recomend using a flat surface cleaner where possible and when using a lance for awkward areas make sure you have one where the pressure can be altered at the trigger so as not to cause any damage, if the coating is very fragile it may be best to spray an area with chemical and then clean off using only a low pressure spray. p.s do not try using a turbo nozzle as this will definately damage the coating.

Never heard of them, or the make Kiam?
It does not say what make of engine or pump is either.
IMO I would be careful, the price seems to cheap, for it to have a decent (Honda) engine.
