Gutter Zap
« on: July 17, 2008, 09:46:32 pm »
Found this on youtube looks like good stuff especially if used with a wfp. tried sourcing it in the UK but can only find supplier in USA. Anyone know any different?

Looked on some of the USA cleaning forums and it gets some really good reviews.

I've found that Fenwick's Caravan Cleaner does the job. It's designed to remove road film and bio-muck like algae and mould.

www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_199291_langId_-1_categoryId_38192

Use it the same way.

In all honesty I couldnt see what was so special in that, looked like someone, anyone, scrubbing a gutter with a brush and then rinsing the residue off, nothing special in that.

You'd get the result he achieved with nothing but water.

Those gutters wernt especially dirty.

Yes. I use it the same as others use tfr.

I don't know. Maybe I'm over-influenced by advertising, but I like that it's

(i) designed for caravans since conservatories and gutters sufer from exactly the same type of soiling.

(ii) advertised as bio-degradeable and non-toxic.

Maybe tfr would do the same. I couldn't say since this is all I've ever used.

I've used TFR on gutters and pvc but it doesnt get rid of the grey streaks (Not with wfp, but maybe with a Power Washer) but according to the people who have used it in the USA this stuff does.

The clip itself doesn't look like the gutters had the streaks and maybe just had a coating of general dirt in which wfp alone would remove but I'm always looking to improve efficiency in my methods.

Wally how do apply the Fenwicks?

I use a dedicated brush.

See: www.cleanitup.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=57892.0#msg494982

I have used the same technique as shown in the video for small porches. Just dip the brush in a bucket with a little solution in and brush on, then use the regular wfp to rinse off. I guess that a hose would do the same.

I've done the same with tfr but mine won't clear the grey streaks. I have to use a cream cleaner with a pad to shift them.
