How do you go about getting your customers on to standing order ?    And what happens if you cant get round to the property that month , when they have allready paid ?  ;D

You just about summed it up. Its a good idea but its hard to make it work. The wheelie bin cleaners use it a lot but it doesn't fit window cleaning quite so well.
You get the forms from your bank and get your customers to fill in their details and sign it. You have to make sure you fill in the reference box with their address so you can identify who it is when it comes up on your bank statement.

I work 4 weekly rounds and take standing orders monthly they get a free clean per year if I am bang on time and I get money the same day every month, customers have a client id so check agaist that, I am looking into direct debit but am told it is a lot more complicated then standing orders

we use standing orders a lot. great for on time payments, plus the bank doesn't charge for this service. we are always pretty much bang on a 4 week rota as well so the customer gets a free clean a year. you can create your own standing order form for the customer to fill out and send in. i have one on my main site under payments if you wish to have a look
