I've twin DI's like Ian,.. so I know that when I change resin & swap vessels around at 001 I'm not wasting any resin, the resin that I throw away is COMPLETELY spent!
Its well worth investing in a second vessel, you'll get 30% minimum extra pure from each bag of resin.

I change mine when it gets to about 10ppm tds and have never had any quality problems.
I do want to invest in another di canister soon to use the 2 canister system

Disconnect the vessel, blow approx 1ltr of water out, fit a small hose-loop to in/outlet & then shake the vessel up/down vigorously for a minute. Let it settle for 15mins, run a few litres through it steadily & you shoud be back to 000ppm for a while.
(unless you're using purolite in which case just bin it)
