Fan jet behaving like pencil jet!
« on: July 03, 2008, 08:25:59 pm »
One of my fan jets (bought from Cleantech) has started shooting water out as if it was a pencil jet.

I've taken it out and looked thro' it and it looks ok.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Mike

Are you sure there's no grit in the grove as ive had this before (not the hole)
also it could be a couple of bent over strands of bristle from your brush.

Didn't check the groove! - I'll go and have a look. I'll let you know if that's the cause.

Thanks.

Or you might not have enough pressure.

The groove is OK!

It'been working OK for months - why would it suddenly alter - and if it was because of the pressure, why is the other fan jet in the same brush working OK?

Nipping off to watch 'Criminal Justice'

Thanks

Take the jet out and then turn it on and if its not fanning then you know its not the bristles then while its on, stop the flow of the other jet (just bend the pipe) and if its still not fanning then its not a pressure problem.
Check the pipe that splits to each jet.
If all that fails get a new one from cleantech.  ;D

I'd have to agree.  The only time fans behave like pencils is with low pressure, so there must be a blockage stopping the water getting to the affected jet.  I'd disconnect the hose going to the back of the jet and see if it's blocked with a bit of grit or something.
