Business Group - Wetherby
« on: June 30, 2008, 07:36:51 am »
Hi there

I am a member of a business group that meets just outside Wetherby every Friday morning for breakfast.

The purpose of the group is to generate new business between the members and to refer to third parties for new business also.  We currently have 25 in the group with only one member allowed in each business category.

We are holding a special visitors meeting this Friday 4th July.

Carpet cleaning is a vacant category at the moment, so if you are local, professional, serious about growing your business and enjoy a great cooked breakfast please drop me a line through my website and I'll call you back to invite you as my guest this Friday.

Cheers

Diane

Hi Mark

It is BNI Mark.  I'm just a member of the group though so not marketing for BNI only for my own group.

It's been a great source of new business for me in my domestic cleaning business and we also have a commercial cleaning company as a member, so we are only looking for a good carpet cleaning company and a window cleaning company to join so we can pass work on to each other.

Cheers

Diane

Hi Diane wondered if you wanted to read this

www.cleanitup.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=57107.0

I would like you to try and answer my question (the last one), the way I see it is that you have a cleaning business but you may have customers on contract or monthly so the value of that customer could be a lot more than what we are used to, as cleaners we usually pick up jobs of lesser value but without the hard work of an early morning 1 a week or once a month breakfast at £1000 a year, look forward to your thoughts.

Many thanks Shaun, I hadn't seen that thread.

Can't really answer your question sorry, not up to me to decide whether anyone should join and whether the numbers add up, but I do know that if you do it right and ask for specific introductions then it works better,  eg I asked for introductions to letting agents so I can get eot cleans and am now approved contractor for 3 local letting agents.

No obligation to join, just come along and have a look, it'll cost a tenner for the meeting including a great cooked breakfast (non profit) and at worst you'll meet 25+ potential new customers from the local area.

Cheers

a lots been said about BMI but lets be honest what harm would it do to just go along and see in person. If I lived in Wetherby I'd go.

even if it was just so Diane owed me a big favour :D and she owns a cleaning company who might need a carpet cleaner in the future.

Thanks Mike

That's the way I like to do business ;)

Personally I think a tenner to meet 25 potential customers is a bargain, but we also only want people who are serious about their business in the group, so there's an element of self exclusion for those who don't want to get up early.

Cheers
