« on: July 01, 2008, 04:11:36 pm »
Hi am looking to get a new web site's as the guy i used before has moved on ......

This time am looking for the best way to go, for having a few web sites on the go at once, either build your own or get someone to do it for you?

I pay £105 a quarter to BT for my website which i then build myself using their templates. They are very comprehensive and have all the software to get some great effects. best of all though is if i want to change something or add an extra page or different photos, you simply log on using your password then change it.

Also, if you have broadband from bt, you can have a free website but you won't get the normal web address, instead you would get home.2btconnect/your chosen name. This is handy because you can link your main website to this and have different information on it.

I have just tied in with a domestic cleaner i met working for the same letting agent as i do. I put her a page on my website immediately the samer day, whereas she had to contact the person who does it for her. In my opinion, it is worth the money i pay.

We use a company and it works out at £4.45 a month. They can host as many websites as you want (unlimited) which is fantastic.

Dave, £315.00 a year is extortionate, especially with the privelege of having their BT bit in your domain name ::). Its not that big a step up to build your own sites and there are plenty of templates out there. Save your hard earned!

Sounds like what I have with 1and1.
But costs something like £5/month. I'm currently working on 2 other web sites too.

No my website doesn't have bt in my domain, only their free web space does. My website has a normal web address ending in dot com. The beauty of the bt templates is that you could completely change your website to a different template if you fancied a change.

The other thing is that we need expenses to keep our tax bill down.

Try Pete Lippit he does a design to suit you at a cost which is determined by what you actually want. You can contact him at pete@peterscarks.co.uk
If you are looking for a company to host your site try  chrisblunt@brokenstones.net
With these two you have an excellent designer and a first class technical guy to guide you through the process.
Good luck

Is that £4.45 for each site

About to renew mine  but  get confused with all the jargon sub domains band width etc

in other words there is a danger of paying for more than you need

On the other hand looking at prices some of you pay got a good deal for hostin
