Free Call Diversion
« on: June 16, 2008, 01:01:58 pm »
Hi,
I’m sure most of you operate using similar methods to ourselves and i have just bought a few nice pieces of kit that have saved us 60% on our phone bill.

We divert all landline calls to a mobile and we can now do this free of charge.

By using a special GSM router we can forward our calls over the mobile phone network without charge.   I have bought a few of these routers and can therefore offer a special price to you guys of £400 (they retail for £500 and sell on ebay for £450)
Why would i want to buy one?
>> Free call divert
>> Mobile changing of divert (you don’t have to be at the landline to control the router)
>> Can use office to phone to call mobiles (over the mobile phone network >> reduced cost)
>> Invisible forwarding (no change in ring tone even while router is dialling)
>> Optional messages (can let caller know they are being forwarded)
>> Mobile call log access (router can send u a list of calls to your mobile via sms)
>> Call and tariff logging

They really are nice pieces of kit, i don’t get involved in retail, but i thought these were so useful that i bought them. I only have a few, so don’t miss out and call me today on 0791 868 1518.

Sounds good!
Is it similar to this item on EBay no: 250257779430
If not what is the difference?
Cheers, Davey.

I think I pay £7 a quarter for the service and the cost of the phone call from my telephone to my mobile, I think that is what the router will save you money on.

Looked into this a while ago cannot get my head round it though. If I get this right need another mobile sim for system to work so still paying for another mobile contract or would payg sim work.I believe everyone's needs are different so maybe better off speaking to Graeme or Simon direct

Here is a reply I received from someone:

In this case, my recommended solution would be to supply you with an 02 business sim.

On a one year contract, the lowest tariff would cost you £28 per month - cost of T910 (incl delivery, but ex vat) would be £340 - £90 = £250.

On a two year contract, the lowest tariff would cost you £22.40 per month - cost of T910 (incl delivery, but ex vat) would be £340 - £140 = £200.

On a three year contract, the lowest tariff would cost you £21 per month  - cost of T910 (incl delivery, but ex vat) would be £340 - £190 = £150.

This tariff would give you 300 cross net minutes (so you would also save you money on outbound calls from your office landline, as the T910 automatically reroutes your landline 07 calls via the sim).

In addition to this *all* calls to o2 would be totally free - both calls made from your landline and forwarded calls

Incidentally, if anybody wants to phone me, my landline number (020 3137 0661) will demonstrate the T910 in action! (the message is optional; some people may prefer silent divert).

My BT phone bill with call diversion currently costs me £136 per month, 92% of the charge for calls is for call diversion!

I'm interested  ;)

If you are a sole trader and don't have someone sat in the office or at home all day taking your calls then call diversion is essential.

How does this alternative system work?   I currently just type in a number onto my landline and it automatically diverts my calls to the mobile, another number to cancel the diversion.

Would be interested to read up more about it.

OK the cheaper ones allow you to plug in a telephone and make calls over the GSM network.  They are called premicells and will cut the cost of outbound mobile calls on a landline.  They dont answer calls and forward them.  The kit im selling is called a "follow me gateway", it does everything a premicell does and a whole lot more.

Simon Clark is the guy who sells em on ebay for 450, its exactly the same system (the Burnside T910 Follow me gateway).  Hes right you do need a specific mobile package (any business package!) that has shared handsets.  All the mobile companies do them and the extra handset will cost you say an extra £5/month.  You can then call between handsets for free >> hence free divert.

I think even on T mobile you can nominate numbers and recieve free calls between them.  We are on an orange Blackberry package and extra shared handsets are £5/month

The service itself only costs £7, but you pay for the cost of the call to the mobile, so basically every single call you recieve from a customer is charged at landline to mobile rates.

My BT phone bill with call diversion currently costs me £136 per month, 92% of the charge for calls is for call diversion!

If you are a sole trader and don't have someone sat in the office or at home all day taking your calls then call diversion is essential.

How does this alternative system work?   I currently just type in a number onto my landline and it automatically diverts my calls to the mobile, another number to cancel the diversion.

Its a terminal that plugs into your phone line and has a SIM card in it.  So there are 2 ways you contact the terminal:

Your customers >> Call the landline >> terminal silently answers the call and then dials out on the SIM to another mobile number you selected.

You >> can SMS the SIM card and tell the router what to do

With the normal *21* system, you have to be on the landline that is being diverted to control it.  With this you can be anywhere and control the divert.. ie number its diverted to, message the caller recieves etc etc.

There are so many features that its hard for me to remember them, i can email copies of the manuals or have a look at the burnside site.
www.burnsidetelecom.com/site.php/00241.html

Like i said before, i dont get involved in retail, but these things are actually saving us a fortune, hence why i got exited and bought some.

Another way of doing it is

On Orange Solo £35 (24 month - 1050 x-net mins)  or Orange Solo £40 (18 month - 900 x-net mins) the T910 would be totally free of charge, at least for this month (June 2008).

Both tariffs come with free Orange to Orange calls.

This is just because there are greater commissions available on Orange, so I am able to subsidise the cost of the T910 even further.

However, the above is only really of any use for people who make a lot of calls to mobiles from their office.

Ian give him a ring he will be able to advise you better

i have a 0800 no, so my calls go from that (free for customers to ring)
to my landline (office) and then divert to my mobile
i get charged £4.95 per month for call divertion, plus i pay for all the calls, which i don't mind because it does generate a lot of work

how do these boxes work  (EG. from a 0800 no)
if i got one how wolud the above, change?
what and who would actually charge me
and how much?
im a bit confused

I have been using Smart Numbers for an area divert to our mobile, which is considerably less than paying
BT.

You pay for the bit to get it to the landline, ie the 0800 charges to your office phone.  The divert to a mobile would be free using a router like this.  To figure out how much money you would save per month, look at your phone bill and try and separate how much you paying for office to mobile calls.  Essentially, all of these calls would now be free.

Hope this helps
