New business - Help requested please
« on: January 22, 2005, 10:22:33 am »
Hi, Sorry to ask but is there anyone here that could please give advice/assistance.
My husband runs a drain cleaning/high pressure water jetting business and wants to incorporate the water pole window cleaning system into his business (things being slow & with way to much competition).   His present unit has its own power source, pumps, low & high pressure hosing and water tank.  Having researched a little, we are wondering if we could utilize his current equipment in the window cleaning business.   Our idea is to purchase an RO Unit, a 400 litre tank to van mount and poles.   We are looking into using the low pressure hose from his drain equipment by hooking it up to the pure water tank & RO unit.  Then using the low pressure hose, which would attach to a hose pipe and then attach onto the poles.
Does anyone think this is a possibility?
Where would we obtain the RO Unit, 400 litre tank & poles from?
Is there anything we have missed?  Is an RO Unit & water tank all that we need?
Any input would be very gratefully received.
Lizzy

I'm no expert but that's never stopped me giving a view!

Using pumps and hoses that use "normal water" may contaminate pure water??
What is the pressure of your pumps - is it variable?

Peter Fogwill who is on this forum is very helpful (he sells WFP equipment) and would likely know the possibilities of mixing and matching.

No. I'm not on commission! ;D

It's a game of three halves!

Thanks for the reply.   Not thought about the pure water contamination problem.    Will have to think about and work on that!
High pressure Water jetting system has 2 hoses.   1 is the high pressure hose up to 6000psi.  The other hose is a wash down hose of much much lower pressure - used purely for washing down.   Hoping to adapt this "wash Down" hose by hooking it solely to a pure water tank.  not sure if its possible but looking at all options, including buying in a complete system independant of our present machine.  Have contacted peter via email regarding his machine but still a total novice on what to buy if buying in is the way we go.      Not sure whether to buy a trolley? But not sure if the trolley would be harder to maneouvre and would rule out some residential work.    Not sure how belted version works & if it is at all suitable.    Not sure how a van pack works.
Seems I could really do with knowing where online all these manufacturers are so that I could view them all in action.   Anyone have the links to the manufacturers?

Thanks for your reply.  I very much appreciate any help/assistance.

In my view the trolley is more suited to residential than the van system.

I have answered the original questions, and have gave some of the reasons I would prefer a trolley to a van system in these circumstances at......

I don't think it will work, the system you have is probably way to powerful for Window cleaning, the average Window Cleaning van mount only needs to deliver between 1 & 2 litres a minute to the brush head and at very little pressure.
I am no expert mind.

Denzle & Dennis.  Thanks for your comments.  I have registered for the show in Birmingham.   Look forward to seeing maufacturers there and to seeing demonstrations.    We really wanted to get going by then but we want to make sure we buy the correct kit.  Better to wait we think.

What show at the NEC?

Have read the thread several times. Sorry also that I can't help with the problem.

Sorry yet again but I ain't no good at finding things on the internet. I typed in NEC and got tons of stuff that was nothing to do with Birmingham.

Thanks.
