bout time you had some luck. ;D

It's good though, keeping people like this sweet pays dividends.

Its weird isnt it. A few weeks ago we did a job for a lady in a huge place and did an amazing job for her. She was so happy she rang the retailer from where we were referred, to express her hapiness. She was lunching with her girlfriends who were equally amazed and they all wanted business cards, great.

I havent heard a sausage from any of them, even though we went back to this lady again and did another transformation job on other items to as new condition - and again she was delighted.

When you think some referral's are a dead cert it sometimes isnt, and other times its the other way round!

I have been thinking of some type of commission scheme for customers that get us work through referralls, Maybe £20.00 off there next clean or £10.00 cash for each person they get to use our services. Does anyone else use this type of approach and if so does it work?

Kev   just been admiring your leather cleaning website , do you have to pay LTT for displaying there logo and saying that you where trained by them

thanks  John

Mark, we used to operate an "active" referall scheme. Basically we left 10 vouchers which had the customers details on the back. For every 5 we got back the customer who dished them out got £20. We ran this for 2 years and over that time it cost us about 2-3 hundred quid. We got loads of 1s, 2s and 3s which cost us nowt.

If I got flowers I'd have thought that it was priced in with the job. and my missus would probably start asking questions.

You need a way to motivate those who say they will refer to actually do it. Rewarding those who do is reinforcement which is slightly different.

Shaun, no offer to the new customer.
John I think you missed the point. The idea is to create more work. By giving people a cash incentive they actually handed the vouchers out to friends and family rather than just paying lip service and saying "I'll recommend you to all my friends". Once your're out the door they soon forget what a wonderfull job you did of their trashed carpet. Carpet cleaners aren't important in peoples lives.
