my water pressure is extremely powerful and just wondering if this is a good thing or a bad thing, can it damage my di and ro vessels?

I had two 300gpd RO units - with the built in pressure gauge.

Our reading on inlet pressure was always just on the red - gave us incredibly pure water with no need to polish through the DI vessel - 000 grade water

I think your pressure would be of concern to me, if I were you!
Buy a pressure  gauge put it in line before your RO

I use a merlin (Rubbish! they do the job but a lot of waste... not good for the environment!  )

No way I would be concerned, 300GPD membranes are rated for 125PSI off the top of my head, 40" membrane is even higher, even on the most powerful taps you get slightly over 100PSI. I wouldn't be concerned with it.

But do fit a pressure gauge.

My merlin, as I remember works best at pressures between 50 - 80 psi

I do believe too high a pressure can damage the system, but I would have to read the manual again!

My tap pressure is 140psi, and have never had any problems with the small RO connected.
