Hi John
I've done a search on the internet and it says you need Honda 4 Stroke Oil - I've also managed to get a copy of the users manual if you want a copy.

You should use straight 30W oil such as Castrol, Quaker state, etc. in the Honda GX390 motor and a good grade of pump oil in the pump, which is a different color and consistency than regular oil also it doesn't foam up and create havoc with the rubber packing seals in the pump.

Just go to this website below which is Honda Engines direct
website and go to chapter 9 it will give you the correct
information that you need. You will be amazed at the difference
that Honda recommends as compared to the advice of others.

Honda specify sae30 OR 10/30 multigrade for our climate
10/30 will be ok for the pump also
