So, for my first post.......

Just starting WFP next monday. I have a 75a lesuire battery.
How many 8 hour shifts would it last before needing recharged?

depends if you hav a split charge relay in van/car if not i would take it out every night and charge it /top it up hope this helps

One, then give it a charge for a long as you used it.

Never let leisure batteries run below half full to be safe, as below 30% they are permanantly damaged.

I found out the hard way.
Mine now gets charged every evening no matter how little it's been used.

Get a split charge relay and you will hardly ever have to charge it.

I charged mine a couple of weeks back as it went flat this is the first time in two years.

Who sells split relays and are they easy to fit?

Squeaky is spot on with his comment, split charge relays are fine if you cover a fair amount of milage? apart from that they give very little charge because it has to charge your car/van battery up first.

use a volt meter, fully charged around 13.8 volts, it needs recharging when it drops to 12.06 volts.
Stick to this and your battery will last far longer than if you charge it every night. Dai

Dia were did you get those details from?  my battery has to be the oldest on the forum, its now over 8 years old and still going strong, charged after every single use.

when I used it in my caravan before useing it for wfp, I would keep it topped up, then during winter months it was kept fully charged.

Your voltages are correct though, but my advice to anyone is to keep your battery fully charged and it will pay you back.

i allways charge every night, i have a 44 amp bike battery from the local recycling center
