Well, im ready for monday (or not) up and running with me little freedom trolley, brand new 24ft pole,DI vessel,new barrels etc trolley on charge, switchover letters ready, waiting to go except for one problem ...I aint ready....in my mind,not much confidence with it, been practicing on my own windows and they looked awful, spots, streaks galore. im probably gonna end up using me ladder as normal. Is it me?

Ive just got my 1st system and practised on my windows and they camee up well but this maybe because theyve always been done wfp so it may be because your windows have been done trad in past so try again tomorrow.

The first few weeks you will wonder why oh why did you do it! Once you pass that hurdle it does get better. You'll always encounter the few that won't like but you will be glad you did it. It took my round four cleans before i was confident of no spotting etc All the best to ya.

I don`t know how long you`ve been cleaning windows but after 6 months to a year and you`ll cringe at the way you used to clean windows,to be fully up to speed on all your work it will take you a year or so and you`ll find yourslf planning your jobs out in your head,and by this i mean how to approach them ie where to start and obsticles that are there month in month out.You might do jobs a certain way for a time and then find that by changing things slightly it will knock 10-15mins off of a job just by starting in a different place etc,as said it can be a hair puller for the first part but just say to yourself it`s a learning curve that will only get easier the more you use it,you might find it easier to introduce it slowly as i did but now do 90% of my work WFP and get through my work much much quicker.When working trad i never found i had any time spare for time off as i was always having to keep working to keep on top of it,not anymore i`ve always got through a weeks work by thursday afternoon and friday is a bonus day i find although i still work it.Good luck and don`t look back.

There is a technique to it,.. and if you don't get it right the results will be unpredictable.
The learning curve is steep,... the best thing to do is offer another wfp'er a day's free labour in exchange for some on the job learning.
If that's not possible, search here for any thread about "technique", "frames", "vents", "Top frames" and have a really good read.

My advice would be to always be aware of potential drips. Vents are trouble, as are 2 top openers above 1 large lower pane. If you wash the top frame or vents it will take a few minutes for the water to stop dripping.

I personally avoid the top frame after the first clean, and find this really helps.

been wfp for 4 years now. i did an hours work 1st floor ladder last week, absolutely sha**ed me out.
turning over more money in less time now. You'll never look back in 6 mths time. rinse. rinse and rinse again!

Very true that last post,there is definitly a technique that has to be learned in order to get good and consistant results.I`ve had 3-4 people come out with me and see how easily i do it and think it`s a peice of cake and after seeing me do 1 or 2 places think they know it all and think there ready to go out and tackle any window they come across,all of them after 2-3 days have rung me up and asked for advise on why there getting spots runs etc,i don`t offer to take anyone out now for this reason if they ask i`ll help but i won`t offer as most people think they know better before they`ve even picked up a pole.

The water should be running off the glass,if it`s dribbling off the glass and your almost having to wait for it to get a full sheet running down the glass your not using enough water.

sorry to say this but you need answers ok, yes it is you, turn the water up to full,clean all then rinse rinse rinse till you know what you are doing, one little tip is take more care on the top of the glass to edge of frame as this is where most problems will happen clean the top of glass where sills meets glass vlean rest of window clean top again, then clean window sill then rinse giving alot of water flow to get rid of the mess you will leave on there, as long as you clean the glass right the first time scub hard all over and make sure you do the top seal alot at first (more so if you used fairy as it makes a mess) then you will be fine.
