Health and Safety policy.
« on: February 28, 2008, 09:30:22 am »
Hi All

I have a meeting next week with a potential client we have agreed in principle however they have asked to look at my health and safety policy.
We are only a small business so although we practice good health and safety and have a policy statement we do not have a full version i would be ever so grateful if someone could forward me a copy of theres.

Thank You

Marcus.

Hi Marcus,

I'll be honest. I had a look at what you had emailed me from someone else and I wouldn't use that as your health and safety policy. Its far too vague. You need to go into a lot more detail which is very boring but is required. You can never say enough when it comes to health and safety.

It is good to have a Health & Safety Policy but you only need it if you employ 5 or more staff including yourself

Hi Gerry,

Everyone, sole traders, self employed etc, requires a health and safety policy, risk assessments etc.etc.

The 5 employee rule means that ALL Health & Safety Policies/Procedures/Risk Assessments etc.etc have to be written down, for every type of work undertaken, including admin work (inc. VDU work etc).

Rob

Hi all,
There is some really good info and examples on the HSE website and Businesslink is really helpful too.
