Not sure if this has been done before but thought it would give people a chance to put their views across on why they use a particular type of brush.
I know its all down to personal preference but may be interesting and also give anyone new an insight to what's available.
I've only tried three types of brush so will give my comments on these.
Vikan Oval Flocked
I use The Vikan Oval flocked 2 mm jets on two poles for low work and don't seem to get any problems with them. I removed the red rubber band from them due to red scuff marks being left on PVC but now believe they make them without the red band on. I found you do need to scrub long and hard for stubborn marks. They still have plenty of life left in them after 9 months. 1 use one on Con roof's the other for ground/1st floor domestic windows.
Vikan Hi-Lo (Sill Brush)
Don't use this much now due to the weight and found I can get the same results using other brushes for the sill buy angling the brush head. Never had any problems with it and would still be OK for use on a Pole up to 18ft.
Ionics Crinkle Dual Trim
After reading a thread on the Ionics brush I gave it a try. I bought the Dual Crinkle filament with 2mm jets. I found it to have better scrubbing power than the flocked and again no complaints from custy's Re: spots etc. The only problem I've found is that after 4 mths the outer bristles are splayed and makes it harder to control where you want to clean on the window/frame. I was told this brush was designed for use with the thermo/hot water system.
I Don't have any problems with the weight but I am only working up to around 30ft.
I fancy trying a tucker brush has they always seem to get good reviews. Any comments on this brush would be helpful to me personally, but not sure if you need to mod it to fit the standard plastic angle adpt or std gooseneck.
Lets not get into a slanging match on this, if someone gives their views on a particular brush then remember it's their view only and that's the whole point of this thread.
Thanks
Wayne
