dealt with bad payer
« on: December 07, 2007, 02:42:58 pm »
a few months back a women approached me asking to call on her, as it was only a small house (only 4 windows) we agreed a price of £8 (took 5 mins wfp)
i explained that i offer a monthly service and would clean if not at home and collect later as it was local,

1st month paid in cash
2nd month no one in so did it but not there when my lad went to collect
3rd month did it left bill for £16, my lad went there to collect 4 times whilst he was out and about, each time being vobbed off with a poor excuse, no money in the house today call back in morning, followed by the same excuse.

after the 4th attempt i told by lad to go there again and drop off this following letter by hand but don't knock the door.

here is the letter
......................
Dear customer,

Your outstanding window cleaning account now stands at 2 cleans @ £8-00
Total due is therefore £16-00.

When you first asked us to clean your windows it was explained to you that we come around monthly and if you are not in we will go ahead with the clean and collect the money later, despite several attempts by us to collect the money owed and being told to come back later.
This is a practice that we cannot continue with as it’s costing us more time and petrol money.

With this in mind we have now decided to hand the dept over to our usual dept collecting agency whereupon you will incur more costs and the possibility of bailiffs calling at your property if this bill is not paid within 14 days of the date above.

To avoid any further action you can either send a cheque or postal order made payable to Grafters Cleaning Services.

Thank you for you attention.

lo and behold within 7 days a cheque arrived, why could she have not done this in the 1st place is beyond me?

SUFFICE TO SAY I HAVE NOW DROPPED HER FROM MY BOOKS ;)

I know, I spotted that.
I didn't want to say anything, because I'd get labelled a cheapo small fry for only asking 30-odd quid an hour.
