Pricing New work
« on: November 09, 2004, 11:37:00 am »
Hi All,

This is my first post.At present I am in full time employment.I am due to start window cleaning full time in april. In the meantime I have started canvassing to get good weekend work to top up my income and give me a start for when I go full time.

I went out the other night and got two customers. Now that might not sound a lot but the area i was doiunfgwas already covered by a window cleaner so I left that area.As the last thing I want to do is start nicking customers. However there were a couple of customers who did not use this person so I have offered my services.Ther first was a guy who has just moved in who just wants the front done.I have charged him 7.50.Then the other was a even bigger house which I have charged £18 back and front. However when I got talking to this customer she has asked me if I can clean her conservatory roof and sills of which I have priced at £47.00 as i have figured it will be a good couple of hours work. What is the best thing to use to get mos s of window roofs ? Both jobs want the work done every 4 weeks so it is a good start

Other than decent money I think the main atraction of doing this is that the fact I am my own boss something that I am really looking forward to.Anyway I will let you know how I get on.

Cheers

simonb

No one has moss cleaned every 4 weeks, its a yearly job so price accordingly.
As far as the other prices are concerned they sound OK but it depends on type of window how many and where in the UK you are.

i got the same dilema not so long ago.i didnt want to go into someone else round, but he isnt covering all area and there is lot of people interested in my service. dont be pushy though and dont try nick his customers as u wouldnt like if someone  was trying to do it with yours.with conservatories its vary, i was pricing georgian one 2200x3400 for 40 quid with cleaning gutters and they were happy.
good luck
