Help with Transfer Hose Please Guys
« on: November 12, 2007, 06:08:36 pm »
Filling my van this morning and the transfer hose split several times.
What a joke I was soaked to the skin as it was spraying about like a shower >:( >:(
I have used the black standard type stuff which I have never been that happy with.
It was a very cold morning here in Essex and it made this hose brittle and snap.
So guys I need to replace it - pronto with some decent stuff.
What do you guys use and does it withstand a frost.
Thanks on advance
Russ

Thanks for replies guys.
It has to be the one inch diameter hose
as that is the size that fits my transfer pump.
Keep the suggestions coming :) :)

We do supply transfer hose, I have this on my pump and it has lasted for over 6 years now. It is supplied in 1" 1/4", but this could probably be crimped down to fit.

Second one on the list is what I've got.  Good company to deal with as well.

Machine Mart

http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/range/guid/FD793EF5-0676-452A-B40B-74C1E5E4B79B

It is reinforced with a coil which makes it really flexible and NEVER kinks.

I use 20 mtrs of 1" reinforced hose.

Very hard wearing. You need to keep it layed on the floor when full of water as its very heavy. If you hang it up the weight distorts the hose si it eventually wears.
I buy mine from a local hose manufacture.

I got a 1'' transfer hose from one from my local garden stores. Just standard black plastic hose. Does the trick. Cheap too.
