afternoon, could anyone share some advice on the best methods on how to obtain sub contract work and key things that you need to be awere of when speaking to the contractors.

not a easy one, most of my sub contracts are networked however what you can do is right to cleaning companys with all your details, some cleaning companys get the office cleaning and get the windows with in the contract and are not set up to clean windows.

one thing to keep in mind is that they some times like you to go in saying that you work for the company that has the contract, SO dont like your company name on work wear and vans.

thanks very much for the promt reply. I'm at this stage trying to obtain subbie work for the new year as i will not be able to build my own hi access business portfolio fastenough. I'm waiting until the new year to obtain my pole system when i will have a little more time. I am in the middle of being safe contractor approved, which will obviously give me some sort of an advantage. I feel that i have all the criteria, its just appraoching the right people, in the right place at the right time. I'm based in bedford. Do you know of any companies in the area or an idea of who or where would be a good place to start.?

Hi mate

have a look in yellow pages or on yell.com for local cleaning companys BUT make sure you get a good letter up and enclose details of your business and what you can do for them, most stuff gets put in the bin SO give them a ring.. asking do they do window cleaning in house or suby out, get the persons name and send your details give them 2 weeks and phone back, keep there details on file as jobs will come up all the time ie do mail shots

good evening or afternoon andy, from my view you are very successful in this business.  With a professional company and approach to business and all these options as to what WFP to buy, i was wondering what type of system you have, who you bought is from and why you chose it? What was your after sales service like?  I now have my safe contractor accreditation so will be definatly be consuming a WFP van mounted system in the new year. I Have done the WFP couse at the BWCA and was inmpressed with ionics equipment but feel it can be a little to pricey. i have been considering the thermo pure to give my business another USP. is it woth it, i feel i maybe streching the boat a little. If you could advise, once again i will be extraemly appreachiative. regards reece
