Thought I was going mad
« on: October 29, 2007, 03:56:01 pm »
Just come back from cleaning a year old Cons and the owner asked me to do the insides. Did all the insides then the sun came out and was shocked that the windows were still dirty on the ones that the sun was shining on.

Thought something wrong with wfp, spots :(

Went back out and did again trad way, spots did not go. Took a closer look and all the dirt was inside the sealed glazed units. Absolutely shocked, have never come accross this before and shody standard of workmanship.

The customer is off to complain to the cons company, apparantly 5th time. There are some dodgy companies around.

i think there is a hell of a problem with some companies quality control.
i do loads of first cleans and the window have so many imperfections ranging from small  spots to stickers between the glass. the fitters say nothing even though they have to come back.

I have come across this same thing on several occasions. Not usually on clear glass though. Usually it's been on patterned glass and whatever cleaning method was used on the glass before assemling the units hasn't got into the troughs in the pattern. Looks terrible when the sun shines on it.

On top of that the muppets fitted the central heating outlet just above the Cons. As a result the first to roof panels are crusted in the rubbish coming out of the outlet. Tried everything from TFR to even scrapping it off and nothing worked.

Do these guys think as well.

Also a lot of new builds I am finding the windows are getting stained from the water running down the walls and then onto the glass. The water attracts the glue type residue that the small stones are stuck with then leave hard stains on the windows. These cannot be removed.  ???

That is nearly as bad as the builders using angle grinders by the windows leaving pits everywhere, every back for trad cleans as the love to take lumps out of a blade, no probs with wfp though  ;D

Everyday I come across it. Sometimes complete handprints inside the sealed unit. Surprised you have not noticed any before, I bet you will now.
