what do I need to run two hoses off of one pump, or am I better off using two pumps

Depends which pump you're using.  If you have one of the higher flow rate pumps, such as a 100 psi Flojet, then all you need is a splitter on the end of your outlet hose and connect up two reels.

We currently run 2 x 100 metres microbore off of a pump such as above.

many thanks Alex. The pump I have at the moment is a sureflow 100psi, like thhe ones that purefreedom has for sale on ebay

That should work fine.  Go to B&Q, buy a 3 way male hozelock splitter, a couple of lengths of half inch hose and 4 female hozelock end stops.  That's all you need.

I tried the splitter and found one hose took most of the water as it was a bit shorter.
