what are these called ?
« on: September 26, 2007, 06:58:00 pm »
long time ago at school we had a thing that measured length in meters by way of a wheel on a wooden stick (you walked and it clicked every metre, I need to know the name of them, I have quite a few very large houses and 100m i am unsure if it would reach. I guess they have advanced since then but still cant remember what they are call.

DOES ANYONE KNOW THE NAME OF THEM AND WHERE TO GET ONE FROM?

Going back into the mists of time, I think I heard them referred to as a pedometer but I could be wrong.

it could do, but I want to measure the buildings, I am a funny sod like that would rather know the facts will get extra hose anyway. I think it's better to know something than not when it comes to the jobs I do  ;)
