Hi,

I have been trying to secure hotel work for a number of years and every marketing method i try has been a massive disapointment, you name it and i have probably tried it!

I did secure a massive 5 star hotel but then the management changed and they changed over to a guy who has the most of the hotels in my area. From what i hear he is a bit of a cowboy, does not dress to impress, only uses water, charges very cheap rates like £8.00 per room!!!!!and his work is not very good i hear. basically money talks but quality must come before price on occasions!!!

Any advice on this would be great!

Cheers

Scott

Scott

See if you can do a room for them free of charge cos if its free they will take it .If his system is crap it will show
Then tell them with your system they wont need the rooms cleaning as often therefore they will have fewer cleans less disruption and they will save money in the long run its a win win situation Ihave tried this and it does work.

Thanks Davy,

Will certainly give it a try, might wait until January for the residential to quieten down and really push this one!

Whats the best approach? Phone calls just don't work and the housekeeper is never around!

Letter, fax or email?

Cheers

Hi Scott
One way of getting an appointment with reluctant Excecutive House Keepers is as follows.

Find out thier first name say its Anne Bloggs.

Phone reception and just ask if annes in house keeping it makes it sound like you have known her for years if reception ask for your details just say its Scott from whatever your company name is .
If you get to speak to her tell her your in the area tomorrow and have some information to show her concerning your company and wold like to give them to her.it wont take more than 2 minutes of her time.
If she says just drop them off at reception just do that
Then wait a week and phone agian using her first name
and ask if she has read the info you dropped in , even if she has not she will have said yes she has and then say when can I come in and do the free clean ,more often then not you should get a good response.

Another way is to send the same info to the manager as well 2 bites at the same cherry.

      Hope this helps Davy

Ive had similar problems with hotels.

I offered a free room

My price are 5 times higher than the cc last  year
They said he didnt  do a good job and wanted me to do the work at his prices  :o

Its a large group as well so payment could take awhile    Paul

Scott,

D'ont flog a dead horse!.

Try putting you're efforts into solicitors/ accountants offices or leather suites or ............

There are quite a lot of hotels down here but they d'ont spend money on carpet cleaning.

Cheers,

Doug

Doug ant far wrong, but if you still wish to try to crack it, you need to do more home work

1 who own the hotel
2 is it a franchise or private group
3 are the cleaner direct labour or contractors some contractors are also franchisees.
4 do their own/contactors do the carpets.
5 do the have a national co who dose the cc then subs it out
6 if none of the above applies offer a freebie.

Probably missed some thing now is the time to check not Jan 05 you may have missed the boat!

Have bben trying for around three years, just can't crack it!

Do all the usual offices, surgeries etc, just can't get the hotels.

It is a one man outfit that has the majority, say 4 out every 5 hotels in my area!!! Nothing professional about him at all!!! the usual scruffy, unshaven, BO!!!!!!! and Jesus Sandals !!!! need i say more? But money talks and i cannot compete on £8.00 per room. I am a proper company, insurance, advertising all eats up the money and by the time you pay to park in the city, unload and set up you are looking at an hour at least before you are on the tools! All for £8 quid a room!! I wouldn't even stoop to that level. :( :( >:( >:( >:(

We are busy with all else, have a big residential base and xmas is approaching and we also have a lot of commercial clients. ;D Just need a hotel!!!!!GIVE ME A HOTEL HA HA 8) 8)

Hi

Hotels can be a tough nut to crack. Done a bit of work for a couple of them. Did a resturant and they loved the result. Salvaged a few puked in rooms for another. Did some demos back in jan for a huge one (4 in total) but they didn't want to spend the cash. Shame as they can be lucrative.

Keep at it and don't give up.
