« on: October 11, 2004, 10:13:34 pm »
I have just recieved an email claiming it was from admin@ cleanitup my virus scanner detected that it contained a virus that could not be cleaned i dont know whether it was a genuine message from clean it up admin or it was one of the normal attempts that we get each day to send a virus to our computers, could admin please verify that they have sent us a message or is this someone trying to hack into our systems. Please reply publicly so others can be warned if need be.

No, it wasn't me  ;)

We haven't sent any emails recently othert than the automated replies and registration details etc. Many 'spammers' use random email addresses which often appear to come from people who have emailed you, or you have emailed, in the past.

We never have, nor ever will, send attachments with Cleanitup emails. If you're not expecting an email or the subject line isn't entirely obvious that it relates to you, just delete it.

Regards

Mike
